What is the Care Partnership?

A group of agencies and individuals who have come together to support youth in the State College, Pennsylvania region (central Pennsylvania). Using specific survey information and national scientific data about successful youth programs, the Care Partnership is creating an environment within which our youth can prosper. By identifying both risk factors and protective factors specific to our region, we can provide customized programming. See About Us

Like what? What kinds of programs does the Care Partnership support?

For instance, one of the major risk factors identified by residents of the region is mobility/transition, wherein youth don’t feel connected to their communities. One answer to that is “Streetworks,” a community-based program that provides youth with structured activities year ‘round.

Also, if there is a program that has been identified as being a protective factor, such as the DARE anti-drug school program, that program will be strengthened. There are many other examples of this organizations good works. See Our Programs

Who runs the Care Partnership?

We have a group of more than two dozen community leaders who commit their time and effort into making the Care Partnership work, including the Chief of Police who is the co-chair. Along with many other local citizens, organizations, and countless volunteers, the Care Partnership is providing specific, custom programming for our youth. See Our Members

Where’s the money come from?

The Care Partnership receives grants from various government agencies, private foundations, and other local and national funding sources to provide money for our activities. Our major funding source is a SAMHSA Drug Free Communities grant which funds the Communities That Care Prevention Coalition of Centre County. Care Partnership CTC and Centre County CTC are supported jointly by this grant and are supported by Centre County Drug and Alcohol.
